Tuesday Sep 12, 2023
Johna's journey in the foster care system was unique. Her mother had a discreet pregnancy and after a weekend of birthday celebrations she went into labor and doctors found traces of marijuana in their systems. Authorities classified her as an unfit mother. So Johna's grandmother took legal guardianship over her and her siblings.
This was only the beginning of Johna's journey within the system. Despite enduring many obstacles such as abuse, she has prevailed and managed to achieve personal success.
Former foster youth, like Johna, who have successfully transitioned from the system deserve praise. She’s a huge inspiration to others.
